Manistee Michigan Summer 2012 Event Calendar

2. Spirit of the Woods Folk Festival - Brethren (Mid June)

Back in 1978 some folk music lovers, spurred on by the success of barn dances and music potlucks in the area, decided to organize a little festival. The first Spirit of the Woods Folk Festival was held on June 17, 1978, in Brethren. It was a free event and featured Iowa Rose, Flatpicker's Local 169, Argo Pond, Dekalb, Dan Gellert, the Flatland Ramblers, Quality Quinn and the Lost World String Band. 3. Manistee National Forest Festival - Manistee (Independence Day)

The Manistee National Forest Festival has been presented by the Manistee Area Chamber of Commerce since 1936. It is an event that promises entertainment and fun for the entire family. Carnival rides, parades, fireworks, art exhibits, tours, and so much more! 4. Bear Lake Days - Bear Lake (Early July - Week Following Forest Festival)

5. Kaleva Heritage Days - Kaleva (Mid July)

A day in Kaleva where the history of this village is celebrated. Come visit the Kaleva Bottle House, Railroad Depot Museum, and explore "Project Kaleva". To find out more about the Kaleva Heritage Days visit Kaleva



6. Arcadia Daze - Arcadia (Late July)

7. Onekama Days - Onekama (First Weekend in August)

Fun filled activities for the entire family is what Onekama Days is all about. Come and enjoy wonderful events while the weather is at its peak in Northern Michigan. Enjoy parades, craft shows, fireworks and much more! For more information visit Onekama



8. Manistee County Fair - Onekama (End of August)

The Manistee County Fair is on of the flagship events in Manistee County. Rooted with deep traditions, its over 125 years old. Come and experience many great events like, the carnival, car shows, live stock contests, live music and so much more! 9. Port City Festival/Street Fair - Downtown Manistee (Mid September)

Come to downtown Manistee and experience the fun and excitement of shopping, live music, events and much more!
